Look King Climate has no clothes on! (ClimateGate)

FINALLY !!!! (or just in time)

ClimateGate: The Very Ugly Side of Climate Science

If you are a fan of science, this is a pretty grim day. If you are a fierce partisan on either side of the global-warming issue, you are either gnashing your teeth or clicking your heels

The headline has no relation to the fact that Hans Christian Andersen lived in Copenhagen and we have a little thing going on there soon ;-)

Interesting.  I dove into http://www.di2.nu/200911/23a.htm to see the discussion of the computer models.  It does reflect what I’ve seen of scientists’ poor coding practices, which cast some doubt on the validity of model results.  It’s hard to verify the process when they won’t publish the code.  When I worked in a research lab (immunology research), we documented the chemicals and steps.  Programs are huge and complicated, so the mechanisms are hard to peer review by cavalierly saying “go and build your version of my basic model and see if you agree”.  I’m sure much simulation science falls in this review trap.
